Freshdrip on a roll: Looking back at a hugely successful first half of 2022

We celebrate the introduction of a new variant and the start of a range of new partnerships

When we entered the final lockdown in December of 2021, the situation was grim. Just a few days before Christmas, the Dutch government decided to close the country for business, leaving thousands of shops with unsold stock and forcing restaurants to cancel big bookings at the last minute. Nowhere else in Europe was there such an erratic response to Covid.

Naturally, these decisions also had a big impact on Freshdrip's business. We saw sales plummet during the most important season of the year. And yet, after coming out of the lockdown in January, business recovered at high speed and we can now look back at a super successful start to 2022.

During the previous two years, Freshdrip spent much of the time in purgatory, unable to make much progress in hospitality or retail. In the last few months, however, Freshdrip launched at various big outdoor chains across Europe, including A.S. Adventure in Belgium, France and Luxembourg, 8a in Poland and Cotswold Outoor in the UK.

With regards to hospitality, Freshdrip has signed agreements with a range of new hotels lately, including The Student Hotel Den Haag, Crowne Plaza Amsterdam South or The Rooster Antiparos who are either replacing instant coffee sticks with Freshdrip or offering Freshdrip as an alternative to capsule machines.

These hotels have realised that post-covid, guests are looking for more bespoke and memorable experiences and coffee is a huge part of this. More hotels will follow in the months to come.

Finally, this past half year also saw the long overdue introduction of our organic Nicaraguan coffee. Initially scheduled for launch in mid-2020, this variant was put on hold until there was enough improvement in the business climate to warrant a new launch. So far, reception to this new Freshdrip coffee has been tremendous and we look forward to expanding the distribution of our newest coffee.

It's safe to say that after a tumultuous two years, Freshdrip is finally back on track with revenue having increased by 499% in June vs January 2022. Here's to lots of new business and successful partnerships!
